Commissioner Michael Osborne

If there's one thing we can all probably agree on, it's that Cornelius is the place to be. It's close enough to the city that you can easily catch a Panthers game, or watch Charlotte FC in their inaugural year, while still having a quiet place to come home to, away from the hustle and bustle.

It's also a place where life moves at a slower pace. Friendly neighbors stop to catch up in the aisles of the grocery stores and the servers at your favorite restaurants know you by name.

These are just a few of the things that Michael Osborne, Cornelius Commissioner, loves about the Town.

Michael has lived in Atlanta, Chicago, and Charlotte at various points in his life but has been in Cornelius since '95. He resides here with his wife, Kelly, whom he describes as the woman of his dreams, and their two talented daughters, Olivia and Izzy.

Their time as a family is typically spent outdoors, often on the lake or enjoying a change of scenery at Eagles Nest in Banner Elk, NC.

His two girls are his pride and joy, and fan-favorites of the neighbors, too, as their baking skills have garnered them a local fanbase. Not to be forgotten are the Osborne's two hound dogs, Zoe and Chloe, who have a knack for devouring the vegetable garden before the humans can.

As Commissioner, Michael is the Town liaison to the Centralina Regional Council of Governments, a group that connects different areas of the state so that ideas can be shared between communities. He's also involved with the Entrepreneurs' Organization of Charlotte which enables budding entrepreneurs to learn and grow in a peer-guided setting. This organization is especially important to Michael as he is the founder and president of his own business, Shiptransportal.

Michael is proud to serve as a Commissioner for our Town as he believes (and we agree) that the quality of life in Cornelius can't be beaten. He looks forward to watching our Town transform at the discretion of its residents, and can't wait for the day that Cornelius is recognized not only as the greatest town outside of Charlotte, but the greatest town period.

He's currently working toward this vision with the Growth Management Task Force. Want to get involved? Click here to contact your elected officials.

THANK YOU, TOPDECK!

Top Deck UTV.jpg

Thanks to generous donations by TopDeck and Brad Keselowski's Checkered Flag Foundation, the Cornelius Police Department has received a new Utility Task Vehicle that can navigate every type of terrain in an emergency.

With this new equipment, Officers will be able to seamlessly transition from streets to trails to docks, or wherever else they're needed.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
