Your student's junior high or high school schedule is now available on DC Connect. As you peruse the class list, you may see some new names. Below you will find some background on each of our new teachers. You can also meet them personally during our Meet the Teacher Nights. Junior High (7th-8th grade) Meet the Teacher Night is Monday, August 21 at 6:30 pm in your student's classrooms. High school Meet the Teacher Night is Thursday, August 24 at 6:30 pm.

Practical Arts: Gary Recker
Gary Recker comes to us from Recker and Co., LLC, a high-end custom cabinetry company he has owned for twenty-five years. Mr. Recker is a master carpenter and thoroughly enjoys teaching others the craft. He is excited to join our team to train our students with skills to become talented wood craftsmen. Mr. Recker will be teaching woodworking, home maintenance, metalworking, and Junior Enterprise. He is a member of APEX community church and is an avid volunteer in several organizations. Mr. Recker is married to Mary Ann Recker of Germantown, Ohio.

Spanish: Allison Misere
Allison Misere is returning to Dayton Christian for the third time! Mrs. Misere has previously taught all levels of Spanish at Dayton Christian, and this will be her tenth year at DC. During her time away from us, she has been raising her young son, Jacob, for the past few years. She is excited to return teaching our Spanish 1 and Introduction to Spanish courses. Mrs. Misere graduated from Cedarville University with a double major in Bible and Spanish. She was one of the pioneers of our Dominican Republic mission trip and hopes to continue to be a part of Dayton Christian's missions and outreach. She is married to John Misere and attends Washington Heights Baptist church.

Math: Daniel (Dan) Mantz
Daniel Mantz is coming to Dayton Christian after serving at Webster Christian School in Webster, New York for the past 34 years. Mr. Mantz taught all levels of high school math as well as some middle school math courses.  He is a graduate of Cedarville University where he majored in psychology and math education. He also holds a Master of Ministry from Baptist Bible Seminary. Mr. Mantz will be teaching our Algebra I and Foundational Math courses. Mr. Mantz joins us along with his wife, Kim, who will be teaching second grade in the elementary school.

Bible: Reagan Wagnor
Pastor Reagan Wagoner moved to the area a couple of years ago to plant Grace Point Fellowship in Springboro, Ohio. He continues to minister as lead pastor and will also serve our students by teaching eleventh grade Bible courses. In addition, he will be available to meet with students for Biblical counseling one period a day. Mr. Wagoner double-majored in Biblical studies and psychology at Dallas Baptist University. He earned his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served previously in various ministries such as Missions Pastor and small group supervision. Mr. Wagoner and his wife, Heather, have four children: Reese (10), Ty ( 7), Tessa (6), and Presley (2).

Seventh Grade Language Arts: Ben Riggs
Ben Riggs, a graduate of Ohio State University, is joining us after serving with Back2Back Ministries for the past two years in Cancun, Mexico. During his time with Back2Back, Mr. Riggs served as mission team staff and team teacher and was the Coordinator for Child Sponsorship as well as Site Storyteller. He previously served in the area at Apex Community Church as the Director of Storytelling and Assistant Gathering Director. He is thrilled to bring his love of literature, grammar, and storytelling to our seventh grade students in language arts. Ben and his wife, Emily, attend Apex Community Church.  

It is exciting to think that in just one week our students will be back on campus! We are excited to kick off the 2017-2018 school year and look forward to serving your family!
