Hello friends,
This Fall has been gorgeous at Eden Farms! We have been enjoying days full of therapeutic riding lessons, School at the Barn, trail rides and more. Our 18th annual Happy Hooves fundraiser, Christmas at the Barn will be here before you know it, so be sure to save the date!
There's so much in this newsletter to check out: our volunteer and corporate sponsor spotlights, new signage, as well as two new horses at the barn!
We want to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful to our generous donors, volunteers, staff, and therapy horses for their continued dedication to Happy Hooves. You are helping to make a big difference in the lives of children with special needs and at risk youth right here in the Upstate!
God bless,
Becky Sweeney

Corporate Sponsor Spotlight!
We cannot thank Cameron Construction enough for their long term generosity and commitment to Happy Hooves! They became involved at the farm because their daughter began riding and showing at Eden Farms when she was 7. Cameron Construction has always been willing to lend a helping hand with construction projects such as deck repair, installing equipment, and even repairing our handicapped accessible playground equipment after a tornado destroyed part of it! Furthermore, Cameron Construction has always been a big sponsor of our annual golf tournament as well as Happy Hooves fundraisers, like Wines & Equines and Christmas at the Barn. Cameron Construction truly makes a difference to Happy Hooves, and we are extremely grateful!

Volunteer Spotlight!
My name is Kim Grant and I have been involved with Happy Hooves since 2019. I was made aware of the organization through neighbors in our development and was intrigued by their approach, having owned horses during my younger years.
I attended an orientation for volunteers which provided me a tremendous perspective of the work and efforts being made to help special needs children. I immediately felt the desire to become involved. I had been looking for an opportunity to volunteer in a way to help others and Happy Hooves appeared to be a perfect fit for me, with their focus on kids and horses.
My initial experience as a volunteer working with the children has filled my soul and I am proud to be involved with such a great group of people who are dedicated to improving the lives of others.

Asher is one of the newest members of the Eden Farms family. He is a 15.1 hand 17-year old paint gelding.
He does hunter/jumper lessons, trail rides, and just started doing therapeutic riding lessons as well.
Asher is already a favorite with several of our Happy Hooves students! He is very sweet and loves getting hugs from his riders!
This photo is from Asher's first Happy Hooves ride and Cadin loved him immediately!

Jitterbug is another new member of our herd. She is a 21-year old pony mare and is 11.2 hands tall.
She does hunter/jumper lessons and will start doing therapeutic riding lessons soon as well.
Jitterbug enjoys attention and loves to be petted. We are so excited she is here!

We are thrilled with our new Happy Hooves and Eden Farms signs - inside the barn, outside the barn, and alongside the road!
A big "thank you" to our amazing team of volunteers who did a wonderful job installing all of the signs...please stop by the farm soon to take a peek!

We want to thank our most loyal supporters and make all donors and volunteers, new and old, feel appreciated! Your support is essential to our mission to enhance the lives of individuals in the Upstate of South Carolina through the power of the horse.
Happy Hooves is an all-volunteer organization. All funding comes from donations, fundraisers and grants. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, over 80% of our Happy Hooves riders are able to receive therapeutic riding at no charge.
Happy Hooves currently serves more than 500 Upstate children each year through therapeutic riding lessons, summer fun programs and School at the Barn.
School at the Barn has 570 therapy lessons and 570 Equine Assisted Learning lessons each

year. Summer camp has 135 therapy lessons; and we have 400 individual therapy lessons for a total of 1675 lessons per year.
The therapeutic riding programs require an average of 40 trained volunteer positions each week, and run year round, with each volunteer working an average of 3 hours per week.
Eden Farms, home of Happy Hooves, is a beautiful 170-acre property with three arenas, a 40-stall barn that currently houses 25 horses; 10 boarders and 15 therapy horses. There is a newly renovated handicapped accessible playground on the grounds, along with a sensory riding trail with man-made activity stations.
We once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support and your donations. We couldn't help so many special needs children and adults, and at-risk children and teens, without you!

Happy Hooves has been a PATH International Premier Accredited Center since 2005. In fact, we are one of only six Premier Accredited Centers in South Carolina, and the only one in the Upstate. This accreditation is a rigorous process requiring centers to meet stringent requirements for staff, facilities, and programs. A program must be re-accredited every five years.

Your contribution helps special needs children and adults, as well as at-risk children and teens.
