Ilanit Zakowski – Camp Imma (2nd Session)
Ilanit Zakowski is excited to come on board as one of the new staff members at Moshava Alevy. A former Moshava IO camper, counselor and participant of Bnei Akiva, Ilanit always knew Israel was the place to be, where a Jew can connect to G-d, the People and the Land of Israel in the most sincere way. Together with her husband, Ilanit was privileged to live in Israel for 10 years, raise 4 of her 5 kids there and run a few 10k’s in the holy streets of Bet Shemesh, Yerushalayim and Tel Aviv.
Originally from NY, Ilanit attended Queens College, Orot College and David Yellin School of Teaching in Israel. Ilanit and her family currently live in LA. Ilanit teaches Judaic Studies to Middle School girls at Gindi Maimonides Academy. When Ilanit is not teaching Torah to her students or taking care of her 5 children, she enjoys baking, organizing, and decorating her house. She also enjoys doing yoga, and teaching ‘Torah and yoga’ to her students.
Aliza Zeff – Sganit Rosh Moshava
Aliza Zeff is excited to spend her third summer at Moshava Alevy! After two summers as Rosh Chinuch, Aliza will be Sganit Rosh Mosh this summer. She is excited to integrate both her educational vision and Hadracha experience into this new position at camp. A graduate of Bank Street College of Education, Aliza taught at the Perelman Jewish Day School in Philadelphia for 13 years. Six years ago, she and her family made Aliyah and live in Jerusalem, where Aliza works as a mom of four and a writer of educational materials. She has published books for Behrman House, and written curriculum for the National Library of Israel.
Aliza has spent almost every summer of her life at Jewish camps, having grown up at Camp Solomon Schechter in Olympia, Washington and then working at Camp Ramah. Her love of Judaism and Israel can all be traced back to their beginnings at summer camp!
