African American mental health will be the focus of the two-day virtual Symposium on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 14-15, 2021. This two-day event, Breaking the Stigma: African American Mental Health Symposium’s theme this year is Shifting the Narrative. It is sponsored by Valarie Cunningham, The Synergy Health Center, and Western Michigan University College of Health and Human Services.
                                  
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day and will bring more than 10 respected presenters of African American Mental Health together for teaching and training with far-reaching implications. Registration is $99 and includes workshops and six (6) CEU Credits in SW and McBap for attendance

The Symposium is designed to launch conversations around African American mental health in the greater Kalamazoo Community - and with the online platform now in place - around the country and world.
