Highlighting Our New Green and Sustainable Chemistry Team Leader!

Cassandra Garcia!


To reach their team goal, Cassandra, along with co-team lead, Mimi Johnson, will lead collaborations with other expert members to summarize current best practices and regulations, and create guidance documents for environmental professionals.


ITRC is excited that she brings her previous experience in public engagement and outreach for environmental issues such as contaminated sites, water quality, and alternative fuels development as well as her leadership in assisting the agency’s transition to modern IT systems.

Project duration: January 2025 to December 2026


Team Goal: Develop a framework that considers the intersection of green chemistry, materials management, and circularity for contaminants and toxic chemicals.
