Meet our Rhylon and Xerkex Races
Rhylon Race
Millennia of separation from an organic form warped the minds of the Rhylon. Organic life. They now viewed it obsolete, and a threat to technological survival…inefficient, irrational, and sentimental organics have no place in the universe. Because of this, the Rhylon began their slow march across the Supercluster with the mission to destroy all organics crossing their path.
The ancient race — Rhylons .
Long ago, they were an organic species, before discovering technology to digitize minds, then upload into a machine. They believed that eternal life was within their grasp, and pursued it to the exclusion of all else. Soon, their once natural world of TI-22 became a fully manufactured metal plated planet of madness. TI-22 and neighboring planets were slowly stripped of all resources that could be funneled into the Rhylon’s critical task of eternal life. They consider it their right to devour all forms of energy. Even the system’s star was surrounded with thermo-absorption panels to power their empire.
Xerkex Race
The insect-like Xerkex are known isolationists, specifically notorious for avoidance of interstellar issues. They show little interest in going beyond the star system, which encases their home-world of Serkos, a planet cocooned in metro architecture crafted from glistening silk fiber. Few Xerkex have traveled deep into the Supercluster, as they are not natural explorers.
While the Xerkex have little interest in war or conquest, they defend viciously against hostile ships that pass into the quantum digital surveillance web cast around their home system, and have been known to launch devious counterattacks against nearby enemies. Trade runners, smugglers, and other well-traveled space Rhylons are explorers are quick to notice the telltale silk mummies left behind in the wake of an Xerkex battle.
