Meet Kristen Mostowy, Democratic candidate for Probate Judge of the Litchfield Hills District.

Attorney Kristen Mostowy has spent her career advocating for disabled individuals fighting for social security disability benefits as well as working to protect the liberty of people who have been accused of various crimes. Early on in her career she took on court-appointed conservator clients to help them manage their finances as well as their healthcare decisions. Currently, a large part of her practice includes working with indigent criminal defendants as an Assigned Counsel attorney.

Kristen Mostowy is a compassionate, strong advocate for her clients, and she wants to expand this compassion-centered approach to the Litchfield Hills Probate District. Not only does Kristen Mostowy know what it's like to be sitting in the attorney chair, she knows what it is like to be sitting in the community-member chair as well. When her parents both passed away in 2016, she needed to use the probate court resources and truly appreciated the understanding shown by now-retiring judge Diane Blick in the midst of such an intensely emotional time. If elected, Kristen Mostowy is ready to continue in this tradition by serving the Litchfield Hills Probate District with the empathy and integrity it deserves.

Please remember that only the candidate campaign committees seeking to participate in the Connecticut Citizens’ Election Program may solicit and receive the contributions they use to qualify for a grant from the state. Other political committees, party committees (including town committees) and special interest groups may not solicit contributions to be used by the candidates to qualify for the Program. The candidates are required to demonstrate enough public support to qualify for a grant themselves, through their own campaign committees.
