Program Spotlight: Friendly PEERsuasion
Thank you to the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for supporting the Girls Inc. Friendly PEERsuasion Program. Through a two year PCCD grant, Girls Inc. facilitators will serve 240 girls from grades 6-8 in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Girls Inc. Friendly PEERsuasion develops the skills of girls ages 11 to 14 to resist the pressure to use harmful substances such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and household chemicals. Friendly PEERsuasion targets the years during which girls begin to experience and respond to peer pressure and participate in risky behaviors, teaching them to resist pressure and manage stress.
Apply to our Eureka! program today!
The Girls Inc. Eureka! program is a five-year, STEM based initiative for  rising 8th grade girls  that builds confidence and skills through hands-on opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. In partnership with Drexel University and Penn Athletics , girls participate in a four week summer camp, and attend monthly meetings during the school year.
