Greetings from AEU's new Program Support and Communications Coordinator, Jacob Ritter!

I’ve just started in my new role as the AEU's Program Support and Communications Coordinator and I’m looking forward to the work ahead! While I am new to Ethical Humanism, the idea that the purpose of religion is to promote values that strengthen local communities and motivate its members to address the issues that are affecting them the most is consistent with my Jewish faith. The more I’ve learned about it, the more I’ve seen connections between Ethical Humanist philosophy and my own. I am excited about the opportunity to create compelling content that reaches a wider audience so more people can see the significant impact that the AEU is having on the communities they serve.

Before joining the AEU, I was the Content Marketing Coordinator for the Mountainside Treatment Center, a national industry leader in drug and alcohol addiction treatment on the east coast. A native Long Islander, I graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in writing and a minor in integrated marketing communications. Since then, I have been committed to raising the profile of socially responsible organizations like PitchN, Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, and CN Guidance and Counseling Services by producing marketing materials through different print and online platforms. A current resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, I enjoy watching my New York sports’ teams try not to lose and spending quality time with my six-pound guard dog, Bowser.

I am honored to join the AEU family and can’t wait to meet all of you soon!
Farewell from AEU outgoing Program Support and Communications Coordinator, Anna Orcott-Jahns!

After 11 months as the first full-time Program Support and Communications Coordinator, I'm happy to hand off the reigns to Jacob. I am confident that he will continue to increase the AEU's brand awareness among new audiences so they can continue to do their part in creating a more ethical and just world. While I will miss interacting with all of you during our Zoom meetings, I know that you are all in good hands with Jacob and can't wait to see what you're able to accomplish together.
On behalf of everyone at the AEU, we would like to congratulate Anna on her new role in providing communications support for a refugee organization and wish her well in her new endeavor.
