Meet the new leaders for 23-24

The 2023-2024 school year begins with some new and familiar faces in leadership roles at Ray-Pec schools.

New principals for grades 9-12

Scott Bacon, who was Deputy Principal at Ray-Pec High School, moves to the position of Principal. Bacon came to Ray-Pec from the Blue Valley School District, where he was principal at Blue Valley High School since 2004. Previously, he served in other positions, and earlier was a teacher and coach. Read more


Dr. Alan Downing is the new Principal for the Ninth Grade Center, which will open in August. Downing had been a Math Instructional Coach for secondary schools in the Ray-Pec School District. Previously, he was a math teacher from 2008 to 2019 at Ray-Pec High School. Read more


Emily Terwilliger will be the Assistant Principal at the Ninth Grade Center. Terwilliger had been an Instructional Coach for Ray-Pec secondary schools. Previously, she was a history and social studies teacher from 2007 to 2020 in the Harrisonville School District and from 2004 to 2007 in the Lathrop R-II School District. Read more

Meet the new principals for grades K-8

Jennifer Chastain is the new principal at Bridle Ridge Elementary School. She comes to Ray-Pec from the Nixa School District, where she had worked since 2004. Most recently she was principal from 2015 to 2022 at John Thomas School of Discovery, a STEAM elementary school. She replaces Dr. Missy Mattingly, who resigned at the end of June to take a position teaching at South Middle School. Read more


Kiley Brown is the new principal at Stonegate Elementary School. She replaces Carolyn Deane, who resigned to take a teaching position. Read more


Stacy Johnson is the new principal at Ray-Pec South Middle School. She had previously served as Assistant Principal at East Middle School and Principal of the Virtual Instruction Program of Ray-Pec (VIPR). She replaces Dr. Randy Randolph, who retired at the end of June. Johnson will continue as administrator for VIPR. Read more


In addition, Jennifer Ramirez, a teacher at Ray-Pec Academy, will work as an Administrative Intern in the VIPR program.

Meet new leaders supporting our schools

Tiffany Banks, CPA, is the new Chief Financial Officer for the District. She had been the Director of Finance since January 2022, and previously worked in the District's Technology Department. She came to Ray-Pec in 2020 from the Adrian School District. Banks replaces Cynthia Byous, who resigned to take a position with the Rockwood, Mo., School District.


Karen Fletcher is the new Director of Finance. Fletcher had been a Finance Specialist in the Finance Department. She replaces Banks, who is the new Chief Financial Officer.


Amy Tucker is the new Assistant Director of Special Education. She comes to Ray-Pec from the Independence School District, where she was a Special Education teacher.


Dr. Glenna Bult is the new Director of Secondary Education for the District. She comes to the district from the Grain Valley School District, where she has been Director of Curriculum and Instruction since 2016. Bult replaces Dr. Kristel Barr, who now has the role of Chief Academic Officer for the District.
