As a junior at Baylor, I received a letter from the financial aid department that indicated I had received an athletic scholarship. Although I knew my marching ability in the Golden Wave Marching Band was commendable, I felt as though there may have been some sort of mistake! After a couple of phone calls, I realized the offer was for a member of the Baylor track team. His name differed from mine in middle name only! For a short period of time, there was a little confusion…at least from the financial aid perspective…as to who was on the relay team and who was not!
Last month, using the analogy of “passing of the baton,” we announced my new role within Reach Out Youth Solutions. As with any transition, there are moments where confusion has the potential to seep in and cloud the process… This month, with great clarity and enthusiasm, we are introducing the new members of our Reach Out “relay” team to you. God has brought each one of them to us for the purpose of carrying the baton for Reach Out in strategic ways that are propelling us toward His purposes and plans for this ministry.
