Zakat Chicago is pleased to announce the appointment of Br. Qadri Abdallah as the new Chair of Zakat Chicago. We ask that you please welcome Br. Qadri and pray that Allah SWT keeps him under His guidance to fulfill this important responsibility.
We would like to recognize Dr. Mohammed Kaiseruddin for recently completing his second two-year term as Chair of Zakat Chicago and thank him for his tremendous service and commitment to this important role.
Br. Qadri's appointment was confirmed by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) at their December 2021 House of Representatives meeting. Br. Qadri has assumed the chair's responsibilities as of January 1, 2022.
Br. Qadri brings extensive and relevant experience to this position. He has served the Chicago Muslim community in various leadership capacities including as President of Islamic Foundation North and Trustee and Chair of its Zakat Committee.
Br. Qadri has also served other organizations, such as the Muslim Community Center (MCC), Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs (ISNS), and Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD). In addition, he volunteers as the backup Imam at the Sabah Center in Franklin Park, Illinois.
Br. Qadri has a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic and Arabic Studies. Professionally, Br. Qadri is a food scientist and is currently the Vice President of Operations at a Lubricants/Oils company in Franklin Park.
