Meet the 2022-2023 San Francisco Chapter Board of Directors

We hope your summer has been going fabulous and you are not only relaxing but also having a lot of fun! The new board was elected at our June meeting, so here is your introduction! We are always only an email or phone call away, so please don't hesitate to reach out!


I will be attending Annual Conference in August, so there is no meeting planned for next month. We will see you in September for board installation! More details to come!

Megan has worked at Carpet One in San Ramon for 13 years. She started in accounts receivable and has since transitioned from Inside Sales to Project Management. Most projects are residential, but there is an occasional smaller commercial project. 


Megan joined the former Greater East Bay chapter in 2015. October will begin Megan's second year as Chapter President. Her goals for the chapter are to increase membership and membership involvement.


In her spare time, she enjoys wine tasting, spin classes, trying new recipes and a little retail therapy!

Donna has been working in the construction insurance and risk management field for over 30 years. Her experience primarily includes expertise in the design and placement of property and casualty insurance programs for some of the largest and most complicated contractors and real estate developers in the US. Donna is known in the industry as a mentor and has created several development programs for her staff.


In her free time she loves to travel and enjoys wine tasting and spending time with friends and family.

Denise has been a member of the National Association of Women in Construction for almost 39 years and has been involved on chapter, regional and national committees along with holding various chapter officer positions. She served as the National Director for Northern California and Northern Nevada from 1996-1998.


NAWIC offers women so many opportunities including education and leadership training. The greatest benefit of NAWIC is networking. NAWIC is here to enhance the success of women in the industry.


On a personal note, Denise loves to travel, read, sail, quilt, etc.

Tina is happy to share she joined NAWIC in 2010. She pretty quickly got involved with the board by stepping in as Treasurer when the then current Treasurer could not finish her term. She loved the experience of being on the board and moved up the ranks to Vice President, then served has chapter President for two years. Tina works as a surety bond underwriter at Travelers Insurance focusing in the construction industry.


In her free time Tina enjoys eating good food, sharing a great bottle of wine with friends and travel. She finds NAWIC is a great place to meet and establish great friendships, network and get the necessary skills to advance your career.


A little unknown tidbit is in high school Tina was on a drill team that performed for the then L.A. Rams.

Over 20 years in male dominated businesses between construction and the beer industry. Doreen has always been an advocate for sponsoring and mentoring other women up in what ever business they choose to be in. She is currently the head of Hilti’s Women’s Affinity Group and excited to grow this group to even larger numbers over the next year.


Cancer survivor, cyclist, hiker, traveler, leatherworker, and dog whisperer are just a few of Doreen's loves and obsessions.

Nichole Schwarz is a Project Estimator for Standard Drywall Inc. with 10+ years industry experience in commercial construction.

She has held the title of project administrator, project engineer, field engineer, and project manager prior to her current role. Her entire career spent in Northern California; she has worked on a variety of projects in multiple market sectors.

 

Nichole is dedicated to giving back, as evidenced by her support of regional and national organizations with a commitment of her time and personal contributions.

 

Outside of work Nichole enjoys interior design, home projects, boutique coffee shops, and spending time with her family and dog.

She looks forward to joining Chapter 19 as Director to support and mentor women in the construction industry.

Viktoria is the mother of 7 year-old Oskar, She is a hiker, camper, knitter, and maker of random crafts. She can’t resist watching moving pictures or cuddling with those she loves.

Viktoria has been a NAWIC sister for the last 5ish years (it feels like she's been part of NAWIC longer, yet those 5ish years have gone by fast!).


She started in the Construction Industry 21 years ago as a File Coordinator (yep - when we still used typewriters, sent drawing through the mail, and had paper files.) With her curiosity, initiative, perseverance, and growth mindset, she has worked her way from the front office into her current role as Learning & Development Manager (with a good chunk of time spent working in Operations.)


Viktoria is grateful for Lauline Mitchell’s perseverance in involving her in NAWIC, and she's looking forward to getting even more involved in this upcoming year – 2023!
