Futures in Focus

The Able Trust is pleased to announce a new program to offer students with disabilities the opportunity to explore career or postsecondary options. Futures in Focus is based on our successful High School High Tech program and will ensure students with disabilities throughout Florida understand the full breadth of possible postsecondary and career options as they envision a future that includes postsecondary education or training, or going directly into the workforce.

The High School High Tech (HSHT) Ambassadors were given the opportunity to talk about being a HSHT student while attending a recent Orlando Magic basketball game. It was an exciting night for the students who were treated to the game by AdventHealth, while allowing them to practice their presentation and networking skills.

Graduation Rates Increase for Students with Disabilities

The Florida Department of Education recently announced the state’s high school graduation rate for 2022–23. Among students with disabilities, the graduation rate increased from 80.6 percent in 2018–19 to 85.5 percent in 2022–23.

High School High Tech Students Explore the World of Work


Wakulla County High School High Tech students attended the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural North Florida Worlds of Work event held on the Tallahassee Community College and Lively Technical College campuses. The interactive job exploration fair showcased a wide range of career pathways through hands-on exhibits and face-to-face discussions with industry experts.
