Celebrated writer Debra Magpie Earling, author of Perma Red, will visit Paris Gibson Museum of Art for an official Book Reading, Discussion and Signing of her new novel, The Lost Journals of Sacajewea. Written in lyrical, dreamlike prose, The Lost Journals of Sacajewea is an astonishing work of art and a powerful tale of perseverance—the Indigenous woman’s story that hasn’t been told.
The new novel’s beginnings were featured in a collaborative work with artist and fine art printer Peter Koch, whose retrospective exhibition Peter Koch: The Book as a Work of Art was featured at The Square in summer of 2022.
Debra Magpie Earling is the author of the novels Perma Red and The Lost Journals of Sacajewea. She is the recipient of the Montana Governor’s Arts Award and has received both a Guggenheim and NEA fellowship. She is Bitterroot Salish. The Lost Journals of Sacajewea and Perma Red are published by Milkweed Editions.
