Meet the McKinsey LSP Team

What happens when three passionate learning experts, all firm believers in the power of play, discover a workshop method built entirely around LEGO® bricks? They get certified fast — and start embedding it wherever they can.

We’re a team of experienced learning professionals at McKinsey & Company, focused on designing and facilitating learning experiences that unlock insight, strengthen teams, and drive meaningful change for both colleagues and clients.

Our LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) journey began with Kiran’s certification through the Association of Master Trainers in 2014, followed by Erin and Amy in 2024. We were instantly drawn to the methodology’s ability to transform problem-solving and communication. Frankly, it’s surprising we didn’t encounter it sooner — LSP’s versatility makes it a natural fit for the challenges we help colleagues and clients navigate every day.

Learning Through Play — The McKinsey Way

Within McKinsey, we’ve already used LSP to support individual growth, improve team dynamics, and help functional groups articulate visions and strategies. One especially popular session invites colleagues to build models that represent what sparks joy for them at work — and then explore how to create more of those moments. The enthusiasm has been so strong that this session is now a standard part of the learning journey for selected cohorts across the organization. Externally, we’re seeing exciting opportunities to use LSP with clients as they grapple with complex challenges where creative thinking and shared understanding are critical.

Our journey with LSP at McKinsey is just getting started. We’re eager to expand its reach and make LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® a cornerstone methodology for unlocking creativity and collaboration across the firm.

Happy building!

Amy Radermacher, Kiran Ramnane & Erin Blackwell
