Urbanfitco. Steps Into Summer With New Shoe Line

Fashionistas and fitness enthusiasts in the Sewickley area may already be familiar with Urbanfitco., a boutique which focuses on body positivity and stand-out style by fusing fitness and fashion. Founder KC is constantly researching new brands and pieces for her boutique that will fit her customers varied lifestyles, body types, and tastes.

Urbanfitco.'s models are comprised of local women, her customer base, and social media followers to reflect real, down-to-earth beauty. During one of these shoots, a model was wearing a silver pair of shoes which caught KC's eye. Through a series of lucky connections, KC was able to contact Andia Fora's U.S. distributor, and secure the shoe line for her boutique.

Andia Fora is an artisan line of shoes which are handmade by the Italian, family-owned brand. The family oversees each step of the shoes creation, from design, to production, to finishing touches, in order to ensure their shoes are of premium quality. Only available in-person at select boutiques, Urbandfitco. is the newest U.S. location. The high quality of the shoe combined with the selective shop venues ensures that Andia Fora shoes will stand out from the crowd.

The shoes fall into the "street style" category, although they have much versatility to offer. KC describes them as "a mix of sport and fashion" and imagines they can be paired with anything from leggings, denim, paperbag shorts, or a cute dress. Not only does Andia Fora offer a unique, eye-catching style, but also a level of comfort ensured by the handmade Italian quality. For women in any walk of life, slipping into pair of Andia Fora is surely a step in the right direction.

The Andia Fora shoeline is available in-store only. Pittsburgh Fashion Alert members can enjoy a 15% discount at Urbanfitco. up until July 31st by using the code pghalert15 online, or by mention in-store.

Voluptuous Lady Boutique - For Queens with Curves!

Voluptuous Lady Boutique is an online store for plus-size women. Established in 2014 and relaunched in 2017, Voluptuous Lady's clothing is stylish and bold.

Shateesha Murphy, the owner of Voluptuous Lady Boutique, says her inspiration comes from the outpour of support from the Pittsburgh community.

"It's much more than a boutique," said Murphy. "It's where women can support each other with body positivity." Growing up, Murphy stated she had trouble finding plus-size clothes that weren't frumpy, and she has branded Voluptuous Lady's products as fashionable, cute and affordable.

Additionally, big-name retailers cannot compete with Voluptuous Lady's prices. Larger brands have over-the-top prices for simple pieces. For example, a jumpsuit at a big-name department store is $79, while the same style jumpsuit (the Starla Jumpsuit) at Voluptuous Lady is $40. Currently, the most expensive item on the website,, is the Goddess Romper Dress for $45 (plus shipping). Overall, prices average at $29.

"You can look like a million bucks," She said, "But you didn't spend a million bucks." The philosophy behind the store is affordability, style, and that beauty comes in all sizes.

Right now, the store is only online, but Murphy would like to establish a storefront location in the future.

"Curvy and Bold: The Queen Size Fashion Experience," is an annual event presented by Voluptuous Lady Boutique with partners Pretty N'Plus (a plus-size modeling agency) and RLJ Designs. Murphy said guests can expect an array of vendors from sweet treats to jewelry and plus size clothing. VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available! Find more details about the event below.

When: June 15, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
