Meet the Research Teams:
Ohio State University
"Our project will allow us to have a better understanding of how policies can influence children’s skills and development."

– Jessica Logan, Ohio State University
Ohio State's research studies are taking place throughout Ohio.

Policy and Practice Study:
Researchers will explore how state, local and school policies and programmatic decisions affect classroom ecologies — how children interact with other children and adults in the classroom. Assessments will be made of information gathered through interviews with state, district, school and classroom personnel, and by collecting descriptive data.

Classroom Observation Study:
Researchers will assess which dimensions of classroom ecology uniquely and interactively relate to PreK-3 children’s outcomes by collecting data on children, their classmates and their classrooms.

Longitudinal Study:
Researchers will examine how kindergarten experiences may equalize the academic and social development of children who start school with different types of preschool experiences. They will also explore the dimensions of kindergarten ecology that may be most influential.
