MEET CANINE COMPANIONS

In honor of Disability Pride Month, on Saturday, July 25 at 2pm, join us at the Downtown Library for a special screening of Andy: A Dog’s Tale, the award-winning animated short film that inspired the companion children’s book. Families can enjoy a reading, meet service dogs and their people from Canine Companions, and learn more about the important role service dogs play in supporting independence and inclusion.

BACKPACK DRIVE

Help Local Students Start the School Year Strong

Support local students by donating to the Redwood City Fire Department's Create a Smile Backpack Drive! From July 15–August 15, donation barrels will be available at all three Redwood City Public Library locations, as well as Redwood City and San Carlos fire stations. Donations of new backpacks and school supplies will help local children head back to school with the tools they need to succeed. Thanks to the generosity of our community, more than 300 backpacks and countless school supplies were collected and distributed to local youth in need last year. Together, we can make an even bigger impact in 2026!
