Praised for her "velvety mezzo-soprano voice" (Pittsburgh in the Round), Emily Harmon was a finalist in the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. Emily also recently won Third Place in the Mildred Miller International Voice Competition and was a semifinalist in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition. In 2019, Emily made her debut as an Apprentice Artist at Central City Opera, where she covered and performed the role of Suziki in Madama Butterfly. Some of Emily's past roles include Susan Veeder (Whaling Women-world premiere), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), the Marquise de Merteuil (The Dangerous Liaisons), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), the Old Lady (Candide), and Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro). In concert, Emily has performed the alto solos in Beethoven's Symphony No.9, Handel's Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass.
