Getting Your Bylaws Questions Answered

The Bylaws Committee thanks you for your inquiries and actively engaging with the proposed changes to the ACPM Bylaws.

Below are a few questions we have received from our Fellows and we strive to ensure all are well-informed in order to provide an optimal continued learning experience within our organization.
Q: Is APMA membership mandatory if I am only interested in ACPM membership?
A: APMA membership is no longer required for any ACPM member category, including Fellow, Member (non-board certified), Resident or Student Member.

Q: I am board certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Medicine and Surgery; am I eligible for ACPM membership?
A: Yes, any podiatric physician certified by any podiatry-related board is eligible for ACPM Fellowship.

Q: Why are these changes being proposed?
A: The College was faced with issues of Fellow retention and recruitment due to our members’ concerns regarding financial obligations (required national organization dues). In addition, the College wishes to be more inclusive of all colleagues interested in our mission to participate in multidisciplinary education and increased interprofessional collaboration.
We will continue to share answers to questions received at info@acpmed.org.

Ballots and instructions on how to cast your vote will me emailed to each voting member in June and will be due 35 (thirty-five) days after receipt
