Celebrating Over 30 Years of Professional Meeting & Association Management

September 2022 news & updates | |
How many times this month have you caught yourself saying “How can it be September?” Just as when we were kids, it seems like this summer went by so very fast. I hope that you enjoyed your summer as much as I did. Now it is back to work, school and of course football. I ran across an interesting list of inspirational speeches from sports movies. Here is my favorite quote from College Magazine's list:
“Perfect”—Friday Night Lights
"To me, being perfect is not about that scoreboard out there. It’s not about winning. It’s about you and your relationship to yourself and your family and your friends.”
Attend Our Next Meet-Up
Since we are now in our back-to-school mentality…won’t you join Meeting Coordinators, Inc. at our next Meet-Up on September 28th? Just an easy morning to connect with hospitality minded individuals to gather new acquaintances and share industry secrets. More details are listed below or click here to register. As always, this event is free.
MPI Michigan Chapter
Are you planning on attending the October 27th MPI Michigan Chapter meeting “Topic: Horror Stories?” Hope you can circle it in on your calendar. I am pleased to let you know that I have been invited as one of the panelists for the program. I guess they figure that after over 30 years in this hospitality industry that I have a few meeting/conference horror stories to tell. More importantly to tell how to turn a zombie event into a successful event. Hope to see you there. Here is the link to register.
Till we meet again…hope you can snag a glass of Michigan apple cider and cinnamon donut. 😊

Meeting Coordinators, Inc.'s Ann Bruttell is a Panelist!
Are you ready to get spooky with the MPI (Meeting Planners International) Michigan Chapter? Join us on Thursday, October 27, 2022 for the October Signature Series where we will be discussing contracts challenges and sharing event horror stories! The program will be at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant and registration is open.
Our speaker, Melissa Acosta from Planner Protect, will discuss venue contract challenges and clauses that were magnified by the pandemic. You will leave feeling better equipped to handle contracts in the ever-changing world we are living in.
After hearing from Melissa, we will have our Halloween Horror Stories panel. Our Ann Bruttell has been asked to be a member of this panel. This is your chance to hear industry colleagues talk about a situation or time when something went significantly wrong at one of their events, the aftermath, and what they would do differently next time.
Don’t be haunted by regret, register today!
