Meeting Etiquette on Microsoft Teams

ABM Franchising Group will be holding virtual webinars to keep you informed of the tools and resources available to help you as a Linc Service or TEGG Contractor. As you join the webinars being offered, here are some tips for using Microsoft Teams…

DO:

Use the link in your Microsoft Teams calendar invite to launch both video and audio components.

If you must dial into a meeting via phone in addition to viewing visuals on your computer, DO NOT click the “Join Now” button when entering the meeting. Instead click “Audio off”, then dial the 347- number in the calendar invite on your phone (as an alternative, click “Phone audio" to have Teams call you.)

If you are muted by the organizer but need to speak up, un-mute yourself by pressing *6 on your telephone keypad.

Have your line MUTED AT ALL TIMES unless you are actively presenting or speaking up on the call.

When using video, make sure:
you look directly at the camera when presenting / speaking (NOT at your own face on the screen).
you are in an appropriate location for a video call; If needed, CLICK HERE for how to blur out your surroundings on Microsoft Teams.

To turn off your video, click the camera icon in the middle of your Teams screen until the icon appears crossed out.

DON'T:

Use video while doing personal activities moving around your space.
Put a conference call on hold; everyone will hear your on hold music.
Multi-task while on video calls; others will be able to tell if you are not paying attention.
