Paradise...

is watching President Trump drain the swamp! Our President has done more in a month than most have done in 4 years. Each confirmation is celebration. DOGE is exposing the truth of fraud and waste day by day. What a momentous time to be alive in the United States!

I'd like to remind us all to renew our membership. According to NFRW Bylaws, we are in arrears if we don't renew by March 1st.

I look forward to seeing you at our March meeting where we will hear from LD4 Senator Carine Werner and LD4 Representative Matt Gress about what is happening at the Legislature in both Houses in Education this Session.

You may know that the Region VIII Clubs have combined their Education Committees to form the Region VIII Education Committee. Stay tuned for more information regarding coming meetings...

Carine Werner

As a mom of three children educated in the Scottsdale Unified School District, Carine has been on the frontlines of education for over a decade, and proudly serves as an elected member of the SUSD School Board. Carine ran for Arizona State Senator because our school boards are only one front in the battle for our children’s future, and we need fighters in the state legislature who will fight for their future too. Those of us who call this area home are truly fortunate because we’ve worked hard for the life we’ve built here. But we also aren’t immune to the problems happening in the world that are beginning to hit close to home.

Carine was elected to the Arizona Senate and currently serves as Chair of the Senate  Health and Human Services Committee, Vice Chairman of Education and sits on Appropriations.

Matt Gress



Matt Gress is a former public school teacher, school board member and an active member of the local community. He is passionate about public service and solving problems. Elected as our state representative in 2022, Matt has worked with both sides – Republicans and Democrats – to find solutions to issues such as securing the border, reducing the cost of living, increasing teacher pay, supporting law enforcement, reducing homelessness and addressing Arizona’s water crisis. He currently serves as Chair of the House Education Committee, Vice Chairman of Appropriations and sits on Health and Human services.
