APLA Health has stepped up to continue providing quality Care for those in need during this time, understanding that this virus doesn’t impact all communities the same. With a lack of access to trusted comprehensive healthcare, Black and Latinx communities in South LA are

seeing higher rates of new COVID-19
infections compared to other communities.

Your support is helping close the health disparities that have long burdened communities of color. What’s true of COVID-19 has been true of HIV for decades, and our work to stop both must now go hand in hand.
This year, it is a sprint to the Finish Line.

Our new Fundraising Deadline this year is Sunday, September 13th. Since we have an exciting, faster challenge for fundraising this year, we are asking all of our team leaders, Star Walkers, allies, and anyone who can lend us their voice to get moving sooner than usual.

COVID-19 has been an evolving challenge for all here at APLA Health and certainly adds a layer of stress to everything we do. We are fortunate to be in a position to help when we are needed most.


There are special challenges in the health care field as we try to balance the safety of our staff and patients with the need to provide important medical

services to our community. While we won’t be able to gather in person for this year’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles, we’re all committed to being online for our community and at our six health centers for those who need our essential medical, dental and behavioral health services and HIV specialty care.
