APRIL MEETING
Here' your opportunity to ask about the many things happening in our neighborhood. JPNA will have a chock full agenda, but wants to inform our neighbors. Consider participating in the zoom meeting.
JPNA Meeting
April 28 - 6:00 – 8:00pm

 Meeting ID: 872 7641 6322 Passcode: 332826
On Our Border--138Kv Substation!
Making your concerns known...
TEP has requested a Special Land Use Exception Permit, SELUP, in order to construct the 138Kv electrical substation site at the very edge of Jefferson Park. The Zoning Examiner is holding a virtual public hearing on May 6 at 6:00PM to decide if the request will be granted or to ask for certain conditions, additions or changes.
Here's what you can do:
Meeting" at the top of the page. To review the file May 6 Agenda- Vine Substation
  • By May 5 send a request to: TucsonRezoning@tucsonaz.gov., no later than 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 5, 2021. The email should include the Zoning Examiner public hearing date, your name, and the phone number you will use for the teleconference.
  • Write a letter or send an email. See a Sample Letter with concerns listed about the project. You can also review the letters written by the Association at the Jefferson Park website.

The Zoning Examiner does not make a decision on May 6, but listens to the concerns from both parties. It is vitally important that Jefferson Park is well represented. Every email, letter, and comment becomes part of the public record.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
City Park use temporarily suspended
Did you know that The International School playground is a City of Tucson Park after hours, 6:00PM on weekdays, and usually open Saturday and Sunday on the weekends.

Until very recently, it was closed for almost a year due to city-wide Covid restrictions.

However, it remains closed at the moment until the construction site is able to be secured.

What construction? The old portables have been removed, and construction will begin shortly on a STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Math) addition.
This has been in the long range plans, and much-needed, as the school has been so well attended.

We will keep you updated as to when the park will re-open. Thank you for your patience, as the top priority is to keep everyone safe!

STOP the TEP poles! Jefferson Park has the most to lose!
Your neighborhood associations voted to assist with the funding for an attorney to deal with the issue of undergrounding the TEP poles. Sam Hughes, Feldman's, an anonymous donor and 11 other neighborhoods are supporting the undergrounding concept!

Learn about the Undergrounding Coalition and the proposal for undergrounding the TEP poles. Is it affordable? Read the proposal at: http://www.jeffersonpark.info/tep-138-kv-poles.html TEP continues to maintain its stand with the three overhead line options, two of which bisect Jefferson Park.

Make your voice heard:
Jeff Park's CWG Representatives suggest you continue to flood the TEP website, tep.com/kino-to-demoss-petrie with our concerns and ask them to underground the lines.
