Great Annual Meeting in Peru

It began on Friday evening with an inspirational message by Pastora Geovanna Chavez. It continued Saturday with teaching by Ricardo and Pastor Alí Leon and business meetings. It wrapped up Sunday with a great united service, communion, ordination and commissioning. In between we experienced great hospitality, a smooth leadership transition between Pastora Geovanna and Pastor Alí, and great times of worship and fellowship.

Please pray for Pastor Alí as he begins this new role as the Peruvian Mission District Leader and Pastora Geovanna as she pastors the local church in Tacna and implements Community Church Planting there. Pray for the whole conference as it reaches many different people groups....including indigenous people, modern day Peruvians and Venezuelans.

Ministry in the Peruvian Amazons

On Monday afternoon Luis & Natalia Vasquez and Pastor Erwin and Sylvana welcomed us to Iquitos. After a typical jungle lunch...including turtle and alligator (tastes like chicken) they took us to two of the 16 houses of peace they serve. Again we experienced warm hospitality and were blessed by the miraculous testimonies that were shared with us!

Natalia is from Iquitos but lives in Tampa, FL. She told me that when she first went back she thought she would just visit friends and perhaps bless a few of the kids with special needs there. Instead, it became a ministry that grew as she loved those children and their families. 9 months ago, Erwin and Sylvana accepted the call to go as missionaries from their church in Tacna to the Amazon region in Iquitos to continue the work that Natalia and Luis have begun. The mutual love and respect not only between the two couples but also the people of the region is evident.

Pray for these couples, their marriages and their ministry. Pray for the children and their parents who are putting their faith in God despite their circumstances. Also pray that God will open their eyes to see the leaders that He wants to develop there...and help them to develop healthy leaders that will bring about God's restoration in Iquitos, the Amazons and beyond.

Traveling to Ecuador

We leave in a couple of hours to go to Ecuador. We are planning to hold the Annual Meeting there with a reduced schedule...no night meetings. We would appreciate your prayers for everyone who will be traveling to Quito for the meetings and also that God will use us to encourage the church there so that they can participate in His restoration of Ecuador!

Blessings,

Ricardo and Beth
