Sarah Jama has demonized Israel on Facebook and on campus as a student activist with Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) at McMaster University (McMaster) in Hamilton, Ontario (ON). SPHR is an alternative name for Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

She also helped advance a 2015 Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) divestment bill at McMaster.
