4 School Board candidates endorsed by MC GOP

[Per our bylaws, MRW is not allowed to endorse among Republican candidates vying in a primary, so this is not an endorsement but information to put in your "databank" to help you decide who you want to vote for.]

The Moore County Republican Party has endorsed the following candidates for Moore County School Board:

Don Zawlocki (Coach Z)

Olivia Oxendine

Jim Pedersen

David Norris

In the primary, you will be asked to choose two candidates who will go forward into the November election. It's important to get all four of them onto the November ballot.

Sample ballot

The MC GOP has developed a sample ballot which includes all the Republican candidates. Because of non-endorsement policies, the only names that have been filled in are for the school board candidates (unaffiliated race). Bios of those candidates are on the back.

Support the conservative school board candidates

The League of Women Voters is hosting a candidate forum for all the school board candidates. LWV claims to be a non-partisan organization, but is very clearly an arm of the local Democrat party. (They have a 501(c)4 which only endorses Democrats!)

Our Republican school board candidates will be participating. Please attend so there will be friendly faces in the crowd to encourage them as they bravely speak to what could potentially be a hostile audience!

Tent greeters and poll watchers needed!

Highlights of February 4 luncheon

Pinehurst Country Club was overflowing with interested attendees who came to hear the candidates speak.

The main draw was Michael Whatley, candidate for US Senate, who shared how he helped President Trump with all his campaigns, most recently as Chairman of the RNC, and how the President asked him to run for the Senate seat in NC. He also discussed his conservative credentials and the woke liberal who is Roy Cooper. He is pictured here with his wife Suzanne, who attended the MRW lunch with him.

Judge Michael Byrne, candidate for NC Board of Appeals

Tom McInnis, Candidate for NC Senate

Neal Jackson, candidate for NC House, District 78

Mark Dutton, candidate for NC House, District 78

Charles Taylor, candidate for NC House, District 51

Sherry Womack, candidate for NC House, District 51

MRW attendees raised more than $1,100 in donations for the Junior Navy ROTC students at Union Pines to use for their events and activities. What a generous group!

We also held a raffle for a free MRW luncheon in 2026. Names were drawn from those who had renewed their memberships by December 31. The winner was Barbara Colescott - congratulations!

It's not too late to renew - just go here.

Note: Like MRW, the Moore County GOP does not share your information, so by giving them your email address, you are not opening yourself to outside requests for funding.
