MELISSA - Sea Hope Brings Hope

Pastor Cummings Rejoices As Sea Hope Unloads

PASTOR CUMMINGS REJOICES AS SEA HOPE DOCKS AT PIER IN JAMAICA.

The circumstances in Jamaica are very difficult for the churches and people. Melissa created a path of destruction from which the average Jamaican might need years to recover.

One of ORH's best partners is Captain Buddy Puryear. He and his ministry Sea Hope has been faithful to be ready for every challenge. He and his volunteer crews deliver needed supplies during disaster and non-disaster situations

Although many were attempting to deliver relief to the Jamaican people, Captain Puryear was doing so. From Puerto Rico, the Sea Hope sailed with 40,000+ pounds of cargo. Twelve thousand pounds of this cargo was for ORH to be delivered to Pastor Stan Cummings of Bayshore Baptist Church just outside of Kingston.

UNLOADING SEA HOPE AT YACHT CLUB PIER IN KINGSTON

CORE Missions, of which Pastor Cummings is a part, was used of God to unload, prepare, and deliver the food brought by Sea Hope for ORH.

It was God's timing that they were already in Jamaica for a group trip by their ministry when the boat landed. Their ministry with Pastor Cummings delivered the food joyously, widely, and promptly. Thank you so much, Pastor Cummings and CORE Missions' Director, T.J. Kimmel. You were a Godsend!

T.J. Kimmel, Director of CORE Missions, sent the pictures above. He wrote, "This is some of the food prepped and ready to head out to Mandeville and Black River tomorrow morning."

This is a great effort because to get to Black River meant that they traveled with a loaded truck through the hardest ravaged are in Jamaica,

Below is a video of the loaded truck being unloaded at their first stop--Pastor Winston Nathan in Mandeville.

ORH - Pakistan Clinic

Chris Russell watching over the ORH sponsored Pakistan Clinic

Brother Russell works with Spreading the Word of God ministry. Dan Jones, PA, Director of ORH, through ORH Village Medical Assistant Clinics funded Brother Chris to conduct clinics in the towns of Kasur Basti, Raiwind, Kalark, and Kasur Mohallah Baluchan Pakistan. As a result of Dan's leadership and Brother Chris's efforts, 438 patients received care and the Gospel.

Brother Chris wrote the following report:

Spiritual Impact: "The location of the clinics was chosen for the areas of greatest need. We worked in the brick kiln villages where all the patients are enslaved to the owners. Their visits to the doctors are denied or hindered by their owners. The local pastors have canvased the areas with gospel tracts and crusade type meetings. Many of the people had already accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour.  We presented tracts and the gospel to each patient. We were able to pray with 3 souls that admitted they were lost. God opened the door to share the clear salvation message to 2 Muslim doctors and 1 nurse. While we could not lead them to Christ the seed was planted in their hearts.

During the third clinic, word came to me that the Muslims were moved by what they had witnessed. They were sharing with their co-workers at the hospital about the strange man in the slave village. They could not believe someone would come to their country to provide care, share the gospel and love the slaves as we did. I believe the clinics helped the suffering people but, the largest impact was to the Muslims we hired. They have all asked if they can help again if we are able to do this again. The Christian workers have been inspired to continue the work with the slaves by means of education and basic follow up. They have a new perception of the needs in their own backdoor. They told me “We have done medical clinics before, but we have never been with these people to understand their needs.“

ORH Village Medical Assistant program pays the cost to conduct a clinic by a missionary. Pray that ORH will always have the funds to sponsor these wonderful efforts that give the Gospel and provide loving care from the Lord.
