Congratulations to all Melmark graduates, this year!
Here at Melmark New England, we celebrate graduations on (or very close to) an individual’s 22nd birthday. With several 22nd birthdays falling close together, this spring, we were able to celebrate a combined “Grand Graduation” for five Melmark New England graduates!

The Massachusetts Association of Approved Special Education Schools recently honored Rita M. Gardner, our President and CEO, for her service and dedication to MAAPS as the recipient of the 2023 James V. Major Award.
Rita is the trailblazing first person to receive the newly named award in honor of her 14 years of service and leadership on the Board of MAAPS, including 8 years of service on the Executive Committee, and in her role as past Board President, during the pandemic.

Several Melmark team members presented at the 49th Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) convention in Denver, CO over Memorial Day weekend. Presentations included two panel discussions (generalization and assent), a symposium on collaboration, and three poster presentations.
Way to go, team!

This is to remind Melmark employees that Open Enrollment for benefits began on May 29, 2023 and will conclude on June 9, 2023. This is an active enrollment, therefore, you must complete your health plan elections otherwise you will lose your coverage. Please review information emailed to you from Human Resources and feel free to reach out to Odean Irons or Mary Morris with any questions. | |

Please join us in welcoming Pamela Peterson, M.S., BCBA, LABA as Melmark New England's new Director of Early Intervention.
Pamela comes to Melmark with a strong background in Early Intervention and ABA Services from Butterfly Effects, Behavioral Health Works and New England Center for Children for more than 10 years. In her recent role as the Senior Behavior Consultant – BCBA Clinical Supervisor at Butterfly Effects, she was responsible for designing and implementing individualized educational and behavioral treatment programs for clients in their homes and community settings, including parent training and support. She also collaborated with educators and EI coordinators and families to identify most effective strategies for behavioral change and conducted initial assessments among other duties.
Prior to this, she was a Clinical Manager at Behavioral Health Works. In this role, she designed behavior analytic intervention and provided school consultation and home-based behavioral services. Previous to this role, she held various positions within New England Center for Children. Pamela has published and presented numerous peer-review journals on Early Intervention. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program with emphasis in ABA at Western New England University graduating this month.

HR Update: JOIN US AT THE MELMARK WELLNESS FAIR ON 6/7
The MNE Wellness Fair is for ALL EMPLOYEES.
- It will be held at 461 River Road, Andover.
- 11:30 am - 3 pm-Representatives from our insurers will be on-hand to answer questions, do interactive activities, hold raffles and/or prizes,
- 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Chair yoga session All are welcome, It is understood that many Residential Staff will be on shift, so a make up event will be planned for Residential Staff who cannot attend at this time.
- 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: OE presentation for Day Staff. This will be the same as the 5/24 presentation.
