Monday's Membership Meeting
Monday March 7
7:30 PM

Informed by the new Ward boundaries and census information, the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs) and Single Member Districts (SMDs) are being redistricted. The task force charged with proposing a redistricting plan for Ward 2 has begun meeting.

The DCCA March Membership meeting will focus on the ANC/SMD redistricting. The volunteer task force members for ANC2B, Paul Cadario, Anthony Musa, and Bob Meehan, will give a presentation on alternative maps, answer questions about the process, and ask for the preferences of DCCA members.

Members should check their email for the invitation to register.

Reassuring Safeway News
DCCA spoke today with a senior member of staff at Albertsons Companies, the owners of Safeway. They offered reassurance that the neighborhood Safeway store at 1706 Corcoran Street has a secure future with no plans to close the store or to reduce its range of merchandise and no damaging impact from the bike lanes. Like many stores, there have been challenges as a result of lingering Covid-driven supply chain disruptions and, very recently, by strategies intended to keep essential goods in stock in case the truckers' protest turned out to be significant, but these are short term.

DC is Beautiful
March 1 - April 10

The Phillips Collection partnered with the photography club at Woodrow Wilson High School on their exhibition, DC is Beautiful.

This exhibition is now on view. The students used the exhibition Alma W. Thomas: Everything Is Beautiful (on view at the Phillips fall 2021) as a springboard for their own exploration of beauty.
