First unveiled at the 2017 NAR Leadership Summit, REALTORS® 'Own It Coins' represent appreciation for leaders' commitment to serve their fellow REALTORS®. Recipients are encouraged to re-gift the coins to others who embody this spirit. In March, at the TREPAC Top Golf event, GLAR Affiliate Glynn Mosier gave his 'Own It Coin' to TREPAC Chair Brandy Jett , and NAR RPAC Major Investor Council Vice Chairman Chair David Alan Cox gave his 'Coin' to Association Executive Kim Lambert . At the May Soiree, Brandy gave her 'Coin' to Fathom District Director Michael Creighton , and at the Broker Luncheon, Kim gave her 'Coin' to Ebby Halliday Sales Leader-Associated Broker Becky Garrison - all because these Members exemplify the spirit of serving and committing to the REALTOR® organization, as a whole.

On our national front, a group of 10 GLAR Members joined thousands of other REALTORS ® on Capitol Hill in Washington DC May 13-17. The purpose was to speak with our Legislators on specific real estate related concerns: qualified opportunity zones, infrastructure improvements, data privacy and security, REALTOR ® health insurance, federal taxation, flood insurance, and fair housing. Thank you Governmental Affairs Chair Mark Wise, Vice Chair Connie Niedzwiecki , TREPAC Chair Brandy Jett and TREPAC Vice Chair Rosalie Bishop for leading the way!

May Soiree - we did it! We made our TREPAC goal! Our May 2 Soiree was a fun-filled, fund-filled event with Florida trips, concerts, hot air balloon and kayak rides, designer jewelry and purses, an awesome auctioneer, a dancing Wizard, scrumptious food, costume contests, Head & Tails game, and SO MUCH MORE. Thank you to each person who helped put the auctions together. Thank you to each bidder. Thank you to each winner! You have impacted our real estate industry!

Thank you to Education Chair Steve Etzel and Affiliate Gordon Law for our 3rd "Real Estate Pros in the Know" podcast - "The Value of Getting an Inspection". The monthly podcasts are cataloged at www.glar.com and distributed to Members to use as a resource to educate their clients/contacts on real estate issues. REALTORS® know this community, know the city leaders, know the economic growth, are EXPERTS in our town(s) . They have the MOST accurate real estate information on what it is like to live in this area. Watch your email for our June podcast when local Attorney Kellie Stokes will be discussing with probate, tax liens, divorces, trusts, etc.

Our Community Services Committee is needing Members to help fill CCA 'Bags of Blessings' on June 5, 11, 18, 25, July 3, 10, 16. Contact Charlotte Finley at [email protected] if you can join our Committee to help make summer lunches for school kids. No $ to you, just a little time.

STUFF the BUS is coming your way! Two separate events this year to collect supplies for local school children: 1) REALTOR ® /WalMart Day on July 19! Join REALTORS ® , Affiliates, LISD School Board, Marquettes, Drum Line, Scouts, the Media as we set up supply collection stations around WalMart (Round Grove Rd). Store shoppers can donate to our cause, then get a free snow cone on us! 2) Broker/Affiliate Bus Day on July 29. Our big bus filled with pompom waving Members will be coming around to our participating Brokers and Affiliates to pick up supplies. GLAR provides the backpacks, YOU provide the supplies (about $20 to fill up pack with specific school items.) #realtorsservesupportsell

Glynn Mosier - OneGuard Home Warranties

Glynn has been a member of GLAR since 2016, diving in so quickly that he has already earned the position of 2019 GLAR Board of Director member, 2019 Affiliate Chair, and 2018 Affiliate of the Year. Glynn is the Account Executive for OneGuard, and his territory ranges from Denton to Collin Counties. His favorite thing about his position is educating clients, and you find him almost every day serving up some lunch with nuggets of valuable knowledge to better enhance the businesses of the real estate industry. He just completed the "Murph Challenge", a timed workout to honor fallen soldiers. Glynn serves at his church in the Children's Department, and lives in Anna with his wife, Julie, and 2 kids.

Membership:

In order to expedite member applications GLAR moved all applications and changes to an online format in 2016. Brokers can assist by having new and transferring agents complete the form online and GLAR will reach out to them, usually the same day. They need not come directly to the office to start or complete the process.

MLS Tip for June:

Need help knowing what fields to search for specific needs? Print the Residential Input Sheet. It lists most all fields and options. Add the field to your search, select your options, and GO!
