Supporting Local Business
Greetings!

We were thrilled to hold our annual Business Excellence Awards Oct 21/20. This year’s awards ceremony was held “under the stars” in drive-in movie style. Approximately 90 local business people and supporters sat in their vehicles watching the event on a big screen and stage at Rotary park in Orangeville.

Guests were treated to a gourmet-to-go boxed meal provided safely by Lavender Blue Catering and enjoyed competing in the Dufferin Trivia competition hosted by Wayne Townsend. The Awards show was hosted by DBOT Treasurer Doug Harkness and featured inspiring and congratulatory video shout-outs from friends of DBOT, Steve Paikin (TVO’s The Agenda), David Visentin (HGTV Love It or List It), and Rocco Rossi (Ontario Chamber of Commerce), as well as Doug Ford, Sylvia Jones, Kyle Seeback, Sandy Brown and others.

Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners.

CANADA UNITED SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF FUND
Grants of up to $5,000 available

Created by RBC, Canada United is a movement to support local businesses in communities across the country. The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund (CUSBRF) was established to help small businesses offset the cost of expenses to reopen safely or adopt digital technologies to move more of their business online.
Over $14 Million has been contributed by the Federal Government, RBC, and Canada United partners to support recovery efforts due to COVID-19. We are now able to extend relief grants to more small businesses and restart accepting grant applications from small businesses across all Provinces for expenses incurred no earlier than March 15, 2020.

Get relief for your small business!
The CUSBRF will be managed by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the national Chamber network in support of other chambers and partners to help small Canadian businesses with their recovery efforts as a result of COVID-19.
Successful applicants will receive a relief grant of up to $5,000. We intend to support local businesses of all kinds from across the country (from retailers to barbershops to farmers).
