As December is upon us, we are thrilled to be in the middle of our Dufferin Days Campaign, focusing on the Love Local initiative. We are encouraging all residents of Dufferin County to "Love Local" this holiday season by shopping at stores, restaurants, and services that are in Dufferin and locally run. You can win prizes too!

Our businesses need consumer support! We are actively marketing the "Love Local" message in print, radio and social media. The Dufferin Days campaign is creating some wonderful videos and posts featuring local businesses. Please share them on social to keep the "Love Local" message going.

Join us Dec 4 and 11th at 12pm to 3pm for FREE gift wrapping at RLB in Shelburne and Meridian in Orangeville. If you'd like to volunteer for this festive event, please contact the office.

As the Covid resolution is hopeful, but not certain, we are happy to see the Ontario Government has announced plans to invest millions in workforce development with the Skilled Trades Strategy and Second Career Program to help those who may have been displaced or need to find careers.

Love local shopping but hate wrapping?

Bring your locally-purchased gifts to Meridian Credit Union at First & Broadway in Orangeville, or RLB LLP on Main Street Shelburne and our volunteers will wrap it for you for free! We'll be there Saturdays December 4th & 11th from noon until 3pm.

It's just another way we are saying "Thank you for shopping local".

We're happy to wrap the gifts as presented - if you require a box, please bring one.

We are pleased to have two Organic Air Purifiers running in our office. Our air is cleaner and safer for our team and visitors, and we have beautiful plants that we won't kill because they are self watering and fully maintained by Brad at Brighter Future Homes!

Free ways for local businesses to get involved:

Social media feature – if you’d like us to post a “Local Business Spotlight” on your business, just send us the info on the web form
Video feature* – if you’d like us to shoot a video at your business, or if you’d like to send us about a 25-second video you’ve shot, just let us know on the form.
Signs – If you have a digital sign, let us know the specs and we’ll provide you with a Dufferin Days graphic! All businesses can print and display a copy of the Dufferin Days poster or pick up a hard copy of the poster at our office and remind your customers that every purchase they make at your store, or any picture they post while shopping, can get them entered in the prize draws!
Stickers – If you would like stickers to put on your receipts to remind customers to enter their receipt in the prize draw – let us know!
Prizes – Consumers will be rewarded for shopping local with the chance to win great prizes. We will be offering three $500 grand prizes, and many local prize packs and other prizes. If you’d like to sponsor a grand prize, or supply another prize let us know!
Promote and share – Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and share our posts on your social media, use the hashtags #DufferinDays and #ThinkLocal #ThinkDufferin
Business Directory – Ensure your business directory listing is up to date and current. If you are a non-member and don’t have a directory listing, sign up for one for free today. Much of the advertising will send people to our website, make sure your business is on it!

Get Involved!

Your Board of Trade has distributed almost 20,000 rapid testing kits to nearly 200 local businesses in the past six months! We plan to continue this service at least until March of 2022.

Please remember that our office will be closed for the holidays December 24th - January 2nd inclusive, and reorder your rapid test kits early if needed.
