Spring has finally sprung in Dufferin County and for many of us comes the promise of a busy season ahead.

I hope that many of you were able to make it out to Dream Big Market on the weekend and check out the wares of many of our local young entrepreneurs. Thanks to Diana and her team for all of their hard work putting this event together.

Your Board of Trade would like to welcome Lucy Gallaugher to our team. Lucy will be taking on the role of Community Engagement Manager. I am sure many of you know Lucy already and will look forward to seeing her as she helps to drive our organization forward.

May promises to be a busy month for the Dufferin Board of Trade. We will be hosting a provincial all candidates meeting on May 18th followed closely by our Annual General Meeting on May 26th. While it is a busy time for many of you I strongly urge you to participate in both. These events are a great opportunity for both our members and our association to be heard and effect change.

Not long after those events are finished you should see information for our upcoming Business Excellence Awards and our Annual golf tournament. I look forward to seeing you all in person at those two events. It is an encouraging sign for those who are comfortable to be able to start networking in person.

Thank-you for all of your support of the organization. I look forward to seeing you all around the county!

Doug Harkness,
Chair-elect
Dufferin Board of Trade
