In a recently released publication on Mental Wellness in the Workplace
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is drawing attention to the increased instances of mental health issues. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused Ontarians to experience a prolonged period of uncertainty and change. Households, schools, childcare centres, and businesses have had to adjust. Some also experienced the grief associated with the unexpected loss or sudden illness of a loved one. The pandemic also sparked or worsened feelings of fear, anxiety, and social isolation for others. In December 2020 only 38% of Canadians rated their mental health as excellent or very good compared with 53% in 2019. As we progress toward wider reopenings we must all work together as consumers and business owners to help each other, be kind and patient.
