PBSA commissioned HR.com to conduct the 5th annual survey of our end-user community. This report reveals emerging trends in in the U.S. and abroad regarding who is being screened and how often, the role of fingerprint-based checks, what elements go into a background check and the increasing value of international screening capabilities.
The findings show that background screening is widely utilized across the globe, with 93% of all organizations reporting they conduct some type of background screening. Screening is nearly universal among organizations with at least one location in the U.S. (95%). On average, 76% of organizations worldwide have a documented screening policy.
The 2021 survey also found that 72% of respondents, regardless of location, place an importance on access to global/international screening capabilities.
