Hurricane Relief Efforts Continue!


Greetings!


Two more members contacted us to get the word out on their relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene's devastation.


First Up! Unique Limousine is accepting donations and sending a "filled to the brim" motor coach to help the survival efforts in Asheville, NC.


Items being requested include:  


Garage supplies: 

• Gas cans and Visa/MC gift cards to fill them in VA (much cheaper)

• Flashlights and batteries

• Tarps, Plastic Sheeting and Duct tap

• Scissors, Small Hand Tools and Shovels

• Nails and screws for wood, Hammers

• Bars and chains for chain saws - all sizes. Chain saw oil.

• Tents, playing cards, no tech games.

Non food items:

• Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins

• Feminine hygiene products and sanitary products

• Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, hand sanitizer, dry shampoo

• Disinfecting wipes (Clorox and Lysol)

• Diapers size 3-6, Baby wipes, diaper cream, formula

• Dawn dishwashing liquid

• Paper plates and disposable utensils

• Garbage bags - small and large

• Sterno fuel

• Rubber gloves, Sharpies, Ziploc bags (quart and gallon)

• Cooking utensils that don't melt

• Pots and pans

Food items:

• Shelf stable only please. Nothing that is perishable.

• Fruit snacks, Pretzels, crackers, snacks

• Peanut butter, Jelly, Honey

• Tuna, chicken or other meat in cans - pop top lids

• Canned fruit or vegetables in pop top cans

• Dry pasta and pasta sauce

• Rice and instant potatoes, vegetable oil/Crisco

• Jerky, Oatmeal packets, cereal, dry milk

• Granola bars, juice boxes, trail mix

• Blue box mac and cheese or other simple box meal

• Ensure or other protein rich drinks for the elderly

• Pedialite/Pediasure for babies

• Salt and pepper


They do not need water at this time as they already have several skids going. If possible, bring your items in cardboard boxes. They will be sorting and repackage for ease of distribution at the destination.


Donations can be dropped off at their Harrisburg and Reading locations on the following days and times:


Thursday/Friday October 3-4th: 9AM-4PM

Saturday October 5th: 9AM-12PM

Monday, October 7th: 9AM-4PM

Next! Trans-Bridge Lines will be accepting donations at their Lehigh Valley Industrial Park facility October 3-4 for hurricane victims. Their address for drop off is 2012 Industrial Drive, Bethlehem, PA.


Their message includes any business, group, or individual who wishes to drop off items October 3rd, may do so between 8AM-5PM or Friday October 4th from 8AM-12PM. A list of items being collected is available at www.transbridgelines.com/alerts.

 

On Friday evening, a motorcoach will depart for Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where a central donation center has been set up as a distribution point. The donation center is under the direction of the City of Pigeon Forge, Pigeon Forge Tourism, and Pigeon Forge Police.

 

Trans-Bridge is requesting that boxes containing multiple items be labeled with what is inside in order to make sorting, loading, and transporting easier. Boxes containing several items that are the same or larger items such as boxes of diapers, do not need to be marked and will be sorted by Trans-Bridge employees.
