Dear Members,

We have a couple of updates and a request this afternoon:

CERTS Act (H.R. 7642)

As negotiations collapsed this past Friday between the Administration and Democratic leadership regarding a relief/stimulus bill, hopes for the inclusion of the CERTS Act faded briefly as Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appear to have now gone their separate ways.

While we cannot control the timing, we can influence the outcome of the relief/stimulus bill by making sure we take advantage of every opportunity to encourage our House Members to co-sponsor the CERTS Act and support the inclusion in the final bill.  We need everyone in Congress to back our industry, so don't back down.  Please know, we are having conversations daily with representatives and reporters.

Download an email and contact list.  This list does not include those that have already co-sponsored.  Write or call your NJ Representatives!

These NJ Reps have not signed on!  They are included in the above email and contact list.
  • Chris Smith
  • Donald Norcross
  • Donald Payne Jr.
  • Frank Pallone Jr.
  • Jefferson Van Drew
  • Josh Gottheimer
We thank these NJ Reps that have already co-sponsored!
  • Albio Sires
  • Andy Kim
  • Bill Pascrell Jr.
  • Bonnie Watson Coleman
  • Mikie Sherrill
  • Tom Malinowski
Please ACT today!

Lastly, not as urgent, but please remember to utilize the social media postings we created for you back in May.  Click here to access.

Bus Companies DO NOT Have An Extension For IRP

There is confusion regarding an extension for IRP, per Tori Walker, manager for IFTA/IRP/Audit units.  Tori advised GNJMA that they do not have an extension for IRP. The extension ended on July 31, 2020. So please, if you did not register, you have to register now.

Email your paperwork to CSCUSTOMERSERVICE@mvc.nj.gov.  They are currently backlogged two weeks.  They are also working on publishing this information on the IRP website.

NJMVC Commercial Bus Inspection Advisory

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) conducted commercial bus inspections on a limited basis during the shutdown.  Those inspections were suspended for a short time to allow the MVC to focus its resources on the backlog of road test customers. Specification inspections have resumed.  Read the Advisory
