Support CanSIA's efforts to promote the unique economic, environmental and technology benefits of solar energy to ensure a strong future for solar across Canada.

Current advocacy efforts include:
  • A federal investment tax credit to make solar more affordable for all Canadians
  • Financial incentives for participants of Alberta's renewed MicroGeneration program which will now include projects up to 5 MW
  • Greater support for net metered solar installations in Ontario
  • Ongoing consultations with the Alberta government to demonstrate what large-scale solar can bring to Alberta's climate goals and economic growth

  1. Log in to CanSIA's Members-Only Portal (contact us if you have forgotten your login information)
  2. Click on 'Manage Your Membership Account' in the menu bar on the right
  3. Click on 'Update Company Information' in submenu
  4. Ensure your company description, address and contacts are all up-to-date
Note: CanSIA Members will appear in CanSIA's 2017 Business Listings which will be circulated in print to 1500 companies and sent electronically to over 14,000 individuals in our network.

OSEA: 7th Annual Powering Prosperity Awards Gala and Networking EventOSEA

The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) is hosting its 7th annual Powering Prosperity Awards Gala and Networking event. The event will be held at Montecassino Hotel and Event Venue at 3710 Chesswood Drive, near Downsview Station on Thursday, February 2nd.
 
The Powering Prosperity Awards is Ontario's premier sustainable energy event, recognizing the achievements of communities, businesses, and individuals advancing sustainable energy solutions in our beautiful province. The keynote will be delivered by Dr. Harry Lehmann, Head of Division I for "Environmental Planning and Sustainable Strategies" of the German Federal Environment Agency.  The evening's Master of Ceremony is Mr. Ajay Fry, a television host, YouTuber and comedian from Toronto.

This CanSIA Utilities & Regulatory Affairs Network Webinar will provide an overview of advanced inverter functionality, its benefits to electricity grids and include a case study of the PV-STATCOM technology - a Canadian first which allows solar facilities to be used to provide voltage regulation, increase system stability, and improve power factor during the day and night.

Solar's Role in Ontario's Long Term Energy PlanLTEP

This Network Webinar will review CanSIA's submission to the Minister of Energy on the 2017 Ontario Long Term Energy Plan (LTEP). We will review potential supply adequacy risks to the Ontario electricity system, the associated GHG risks from supply decisions, the cost of electricity and solar's contribution to that cost, as well as CanSIA's recommendations on how to best utilize solar energy (PV and thermal) to help mitigate risk and achieve the province's climate change goals.
