Solar Canada to be held in Calgary this year, June 20-21solcan
Following a highly successful Solar West in 2017, there is a lot of excitement to host a full Solar Canada event with an exhibition hall in Calgary this year!

Registration will open by end of January and CanSIA's Corporate and Supporter Members will receive $450 off the registration fee.

Exhibiting opportunities are available and CanSIA's higher-level members will save $560 per 10X10 booth space.

Kinectrics is a leading testing, inspection, certification and consulting company with over 25 unique laboratory and testing facilities. They provide independent third party testing services to qualify new products on behalf of customers, utilities and manufacturers to a variety of internationally recognized standards. They also perform commissioning tests in the field and failure investigations/forensics in the lab to help clients understand modes of failure on components used in the power industry. The tour will be of particular interest to members of the energy sector that require testing/consulting.

IFI Bootcamp - Edmonton, February 21-22, 2018 IFI

The Government of Alberta, in collaboration with the Government of Manitoba and Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) will be hosting a 2-day seminar on how to do business with International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The seminar will include presentations by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and international based companies who have been successful with IFI's and are looking for potential Canadian partners. The event takes place on February 21 & 22 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Smart Grid Program launched by Natural Resources Canadasmartgrid

NRCan has launched their "Smart Grid Program" which will invest up to $100 million in utility-led projects to reduce GHG emissions, better utilize existing electricity assets and foster innovation and clean jobs for: demonstration of smart grid technologies; and deployment of smart grid integrated systems.

Proposals must be received by March 4, 2018. A webinar will be held this Thursday, January 25th.

Ontario Ministry of Energy's New Program to Help Ontario Companies Diversify to New MarketsOnMinEnergy
On October 26, 2017, Ontario released the 2017 Long-Term Energy Plan (LTEP) Delivering Fairness and Choice. The plan includes a number of initiatives focussing on energy affordability, innovation and customer choice, and reflects that the Ministry of Energy intends to develop a program that would support demonstrations of energy technologies abroad - helping Ontario companies to diversify to new markets and go global.

Join Ontario's Ministry of Energy for an initial information and roundtable session about this proposed program on January 31, 2018, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, 250 Yonge Street, Toronto.

AESO's Dispatchable Renewables & Electricity Storage QuestionnaireAESO
The Government of Alberta has tasked the AESO on Friday, January 19 with assessing how dispatchable renewables and electricity storage could benefit the electricity system as it transitions towards 30 per cent renewables by 2030. The AESO will carefully coordinate this assessment with ongoing capacity market design work and any future Renewable Electricity Program competitions.

The AESO invites interested stakeholders to provide their views on dispatchable renewables and electricity storage in Alberta by Feb. 14, 2018.
