Go Solar Guide & Directory

CanSIA is currently putting together a resource called Canada's Go Solar Guide & Directory, comprising our annual print member directory but now also including consumer-focused content to help homeowners, businesses, and other building and land owners go solar. This resource will be distributed to all CanSIA members, with additional circulation at key industry events throughout the year, including Solar Canada 2018 and Solar Ontario 2018.

Only Corporate and Supporter Members of CanSIA will be listed in this directory. Click here to join CanSIA and get your company listed in this important consumer resource.

CanSIA members can also request additional copies of Canada's Go Solar Guide & Directory to distribute to their networks and prospective customers as a reference tool.

IESO is hosting a webinar related to the Ontario Virtual Net Metering pilot program.

CanSIA and our members view virtual net-metering as a key opportunity to growing the solar market in Ontario. To that end, CanSIA's Ontario Net Metering Forum will be reviewing IESO materials and initial thoughts and will be fully engaged in the IESO stakeholder engagement process, making formal submissions where applicable.

$500 million announced for Low Carbon Economy Challenge Fund fivehundymill
The details of the Federal Government's $500 million Low Carbon Economy Challenge Fund has now been announced!

Champions: Valued at over $450 million, the Champions stream is open to applicants of any size. Eligible applicants include all provinces and territories, municipalities, Indigenous communities and organizations, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations. This stream is open for applications now with a deadline of May 14, 2018.

Partnerships: Valued at $50 million, the Partnerships stream is limited to Indigenous communities and organizations, small and medium-sized businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and small municipalities. The Partnerships stream will help ensure a broad range of Canadians are able to participate in the Challenge. This stream will be open later in 2018.

Ontario Government Helping Cleantech Companies Succeed in a Global Market ONTGOV
On February 13th 2018, the Ontario government announced its Cleantech Strategy, which will help cleantech companies launch products and services, find new customers, and scale up in a global market that is expected to be worth $2.5 trillion by 2022. The Strategy is funded by proceeds from the province's cap and trade program and funding initiatives will include the procurement by the Province of $10 million of new technologies and services through the Green Focus on Innovation and Technology (GreenFIT) program.

Initially, the Strategy will focus on four cleantech sub-sectors:
  • Energy generation and storage;
  • Energy infrastructure;
  • Bio-products and bio-chemicals; and
  • Water and wastewater.
