United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties has released the 2025 Community Impact Grant Application

Health and human service organizations who are interested in applying for program funding for the 2025 funding cycle must meet the following requirements: provide a program or service that will help United Way meet its Impact Goals, be a non-profit organization, have a CPA audit or equivalent and have been providing services in Hays and/or Caldwell County for at least two years. Other requirements are provided to agencies in the application packet.

Support Dell Children’s Medical Center

Sam’s Club #4958 in San Marcos is raising funds for Dell Children’s Medical Center. For 37 years, Sam’s Club has supported Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, raising over $1 billion.

A donation of $250 will be honored with your business name displayed in the club. Your contribution stays local, aiding kids in Central Texas. Help make this campaign a success and bring hope to local children.

Central Texas Metal Fest II at The Porch - July 19-20

Hell City Paradise and The78666 present Central Texas Metal Fest II at The Porch, San Marcos on July 19-20, 2024. Featuring bands like Trip Cigs, HateWaker, and more, the event supports San Marcos Animal Shelter, Hays County Food Bank, and Metal Mark (KZSM 104.1 FM)’s Benefit Fund.

Presale tickets: $15/day, $25/2-day via Eventbrite. At the venue: $17/day, $30/2-day. $5 minor surcharge. Non-perishable food donations earn raffle tickets.

8th Annual Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest – Mermaid Promenade & Downtown Street Faire

September 28th from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Mermaid Promenade scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – Noon.
The Downtown Street Faire immediately follows the parade Noon-6:00 p.m.

The Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest is created to celebrate San Marcos’ vibrant community while highlighting the San Marcos River. In 2023 the festival featured over 100 parade entries, 140+ artisan vendors and over 7,000+ festival-goers. Live R&B music, cultural dance performances, artisan booths, food courts, and downtown pubs and restaurants will all be part of the 2024 Downtown Street Faire experience!
