RECAP FEBRUARY MEETING

February's meet & greet with the building and HVAC students from the Huot Tech Center was a full house. The year long workforce initiative helps create viable paths for students to start careers right after graduation.

Lakes Region members representing a mix of trades people (builders, designers, installers, lenders, suppliers) and students shared their workforce needs and future plans.

There were even a handful of past Huot graduates who shared their successfully career paths after graduating with careers that they love.

The culinary students prepared and served a wonderful meal and told the group about their future plans and goals.

All were invited to the building & plumbing shops to check out the student built projects.

New Higher Fines for OSHA Violations in Effect for 2024

Violations of safety rules on jobsites are now more expensive as the Labor Department announced its annual cost-of-living adjustments to OSHA civil penalties for 2024. The new penalty amounts went into effect Monday, Jan. 15.
