Summary of Proposed Changes - National Building Code 2015 Part 9: Housing and Small Buildings

To assist our valued members, BILD Alberta is providing a summary of all proposed changes to Codes Canada that would impact the industry.

  • This document is a summary of the proposed changes to Part 9 - Housing and Small Buildings provided by the National Research Council (NRC).

Reviews of other Parts of the National Building Code, the National Fire Code and the National Plumbing codes to follow over the next few weeks.
Public review to proposed changes to Codes Canada publications is now open.

  • If these proposed changes are approved they will be published in the 2020 National Codes.
  • We are asking members to provide formal comments to National Research Council before January 4, 2019.
  • Members are encouraged to forward feedback on the proposed changes to Matthew Armstrong to help inform the comments to association will provide on the proposed changes.

  • You must use a separate Comment Form for each proposed change.
  • Only online comment forms will be accepted.
