Understanding Push and Pull Strategies
William Joseph Communications

Companies, both B2B and B2C, engage in a range of marketing strategies to get their message and product to customers. One way these strategies are categorized are as Push and Pull or Outbound and Inbound marketing.

Simply put, a push strategy is to push a product at a customer, while a pull strategy pulls a customer towards a product. Push strategy is a quick way to move a customer from awareness to purchase, while pull strategy is about creating an ongoing relationship with the brand.

While some companies decide to adopt one or the other it is important to find a complementary balance between the two. Choosing your marketing strategy and tactics should be done carefully and with a thorough understanding of your business, current brand awareness, and target audience.

What to do when you are on the brink of burnout
Thursday, April 8, 2021 | 2 PM | WEBINAR

Burnout—a state of being emotionally, physically and psychologically exhausted. We know it well, even though it shows up a little differently for each one of us.

As business leaders or owners, what do we actually do about it?

In this workshop Victoria Smith from Stress Less Ladies will share three sure-fire strategies to help you manage your stress and come back from the brink of burnout. You’re going to learn why you’re physically holding your stress throughout the day, how to hack your biology to release that stress and much more.

This will be an interactive workshop—come prepared with pen and paper. This workshop is also for everyone, so don’t let the “Ladies” in Stress Less Ladies deter you.

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK CELEBRATION
APRIL 18 TO 24, 2021

National Volunteer Week is celebrated every year to recognize and thank volunteers for the time and energy they contribute to causes that benefit our community. National Volunteer Week is also an opportunity to promote the benefits of volunteering to individuals and society.

The Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau (GPVSB) is partnering with the City of Grande Prairie to celebrate National Volunteer Week. This year’s theme is “The Value of One. The Power of Many.” We invite individuals, groups, organizations, not-for-profits and charities to join us virtually throughout the week on social media to celebrate the vibrancy and impact of volunteerism in our community and across the region.

This year’s celebration will feature various online activities that include ‘Volunteer Shout Outs’ from the community, volunteer interviews, a special GPVSB National Volunteer Week Newsletter covering the week, a scavenger hunt in collaboration with Grande Prairie Regional Tourism and much more.

We encourage everyone who would like to participate in honouring our volunteer community to send us a volunteer shout out video or message. These “shout outs” (video and/or written) need to be into Brian Carter ([email protected]) by 9:00 am, Monday, April 5, 2021. The video “Shout Outs” would be no more than 30 seconds in duration. The written “Shout Outs” should be brief but we haven’t identified an actual word limit so there is some flexibility. For information on making your submission visit https://www.volunteergp.com/events/national-volunteer-week.

The National Volunteer Week scavenger hunt will start on April 18 and end at midnight on April 24, with great prizes to be won. More details on the scavenger hunt will be available closer to National Volunteer Week at https://www.cityofgp.com/events.
