PEP Member News | September 2024 | |
Dear PEP Members:
It's been an exciting month for PEP members and we're gearing up for more excitement next month!
I want to thank those of you who attended our Annual Meeting and Environmental Stewardship Awards earlier this month. This program is an important part of the PEP mission. These award-winning projects combined resulted in a decrease of 6,732 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions last year. According to EPA calculations, this is equivalent to the electricity use of 1,329 homes for one year. WOW!
We also shared an important update for The Eagle Reef Project. We are more than 1/3 of the way to our 1,000 reef goal! Read more below about how you can be part of this impact.
Next up we have the ever-popular Industrial Reverse Trade Show and Educational Seminar. Our seminar is FREE and this year's topic is on something we all hear about - Artificial Intelligence. You can also purchase your VIP ticket for the Trade Show this week and get extra time with decision makers before we open to the public!
Finally, we are rounding out the year with our PEP Membership Breakfasts, Lunch & Learn, and the Annual Mayor's Luncheon. Be sure to attend one - or all - of these events with us.
As always, if you need anything, please feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Denson, Executive Director

“I am very honored and humbled to receive this recognition from Tau Beta Pi,” Steadman said. “I would never have dreamed that I would receive this award, especially considering the amazing engineers who have previously received this distinction.”

OUR GOAL IS 1,000 REEFS - AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
It has just been a little over a year since PEP announced our partnership with Eagle Reef and Stokes School of Marine and Environmental Sciences right here at the University of South Alabama and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources with the goal to deploy 1000 reefs.
We're proud to share that there are now a total of 320 reefs deployed along the shores of Mobile and Baldwin County.
We here at PEP are reliant on the commitment of our members and thus far through our corporate sponsors and supporters we have raised about $90,000 towards the goal of deploying 1000 reefs. A huge thank you to BASF, AM/NS Calvert, APM Terminals and the Alabama Port Authority for their contributions and being Clean Water Champions.
The money that is raised through the PEP member company’s contributions is used to offset the cost to homeowners. You can fill out the interest form below and we will be in touch with you and your company.
In addition to funds, we need your help as volunteers. We have set up The Eagle Reef booth at the Mobile Boat Show, the inaugural Alabama Forever Wild Land Trust Expo, the Dog River Mud Bottom Revival Music Festival, and more. Doing this takes time and manpower - if you can help, please reach out to our Eagle Reef Coordinator at eaglereef@pepmobile.org.
