NAR Launches Pilot Mentorship Program in Nine Cities, Including Trenton National Association of REALTORS President Charlie Oppler has invited local Realtor associations from eight U.S. cities, including Trenton, to take part in a pilot mentorship program to offer mentorships to individuals in underserved communities about possible careers in real estate. CORE is working closely with New Jersey Realtors on this program, which will pair a veteran Realtor volunteer, who will serve as a Mentor, with a Mentee who is interested in a possible career in real estate.
  • In addition to residential brokerage, the program will introduce mentees to the wide variety of real estate career opportunities, including appraisal, property management, financing, and commercial real estate brokerage.
  • The pilot program will take place this year from May through October and will require mentors and mentees to spend six to eight hours a month in training and networking sessions. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the program will begin with virtual training and will most likely transition to in-person learning and networking events once Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. In addition to Trenton, the other cities in the program are Chicago, Seattle, Baltimore, Durham and Raleigh (NC), Rochester (NY), Memphis, and Washington D.C.
  • Mentees must be at least 18 years old and should be from Trenton or the surrounding area. CORE members who know individuals who might be interested in participating as a mentor or mentee are urged to share this information. For the Mentee application, click here. For the Mentor application, click here. For more detailed information on the program, go to NAR's Mentorship Program. Questions? Send an email to info@core-realtors.com.
